Instructions

Duo Two-Factor Authentication Configuration

If you had Duo set to call your office phone as the second factor of authentication, you may need to update your Duo configuration.

VPN Access

Michigan Medicine offers the Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) solution for remote workers using a personal device.

Intelligent Hub or Intune

Accessing WVD does not require that a personally owned Windows or Mac device be enrolled in Intelligent Hub or Intune.

Shared Drives

Shared drives are available in the WVD session. The S, T, and R drives are automatically mapped.

Email Access

The full Outlook client application is available within WVD.  However, if users do not need access to a full WVD session, HITS recommends the Outlook Virtual App for accessing email from a personally owned device.

MiChart Access

MiChart is available within the WVD session or directly through vplaces.med.umich.edu.

Remote Desktop

Remote Desktop is available from within the WVD session so that users can access a CoreImage device remotely.  A user would first connect to WVD, and then from within the WVD session, they would run Remote Desktop to connect to the CoreImage device back at Michigan Medicine.
