Introduction
This article will walk you through the initial setup of a Corporately Owned, Corporately Enrolled Android device, beginning with the out-of-box experience.
If your device is currently enrolled via a different method, or is not at the initial setup screen, a factory reset will be required before beginning the enrollment.
Instructions
1. Start at the initial setup screen.
2. Tap anywhere in the blank space on screen 7-9 times. This will open the built-in camera app.
Once the camera app has opened, scan the QR code below:
3. Connect to a wireless network, then click Next.
4. Click Accept & Continue
5. Accept the Terms and Conditions, as well as the Privacy Policy, then click Next.
6. Toggle off automated usage statistics, then click Accept & Continue.
7. Enter your Michigan Medicine email (uniqname@med.umich.edu), then click Next.
8. Login with your Michigan Medicine email (uniqname@med.umich.edu) and UMICH password.
9. You will receive a Duo prompt. Accept the prompt to continue.
10. Your device will now install the required management apps. Click Install to monitor progress.
11. Once the necessary apps are installed, click Set up.
12. Click Sign In.
13. Click Register.
14. Login with your Michigan Medicine email (uniqname@med.umich.edu) and UMICH password.
15. Click Next.
16. For your device category, select Corporate Device, then click OK.
17. Click Done.
18. Once your device has been registered and brings you to the Home Screen, open Settings.
19. In settings, click Lock Screen.
20. Click Screen Lock Type.
21. Select Password, then create a new password in accordance with the onscreen instructions.
22. Once your password has been set, your device is ready to be assigned to a group. The device's group assignment will automatically determine which applications should be installed and any additional policies to be applied.
Note: Group assignments can take up to 30 minutes to finish installing applications and any additional policy required by the group
