Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) is a Microsoft-based service that provides Michigan Medicine faculty and staff with remote access to a virtual Windows 11 desktop. This virtual desktop is similar to an HITS CoreImage Windows device. Additional information is available here.
Windows Virtual Desktop is available via a desktop client application for Mac or Windows (recommended method) or via a web browser for incidental use.
The web client can be accessed using the following web browsers for Windows and macOS platforms:
- Microsoft Edge for Windows and Mac
 - Google Chrome for Windows, Mac, and Chrome Books
 - Apple Safari for Mac, Windows and iPad
 - Firefox

You cannot use multiple monitors when using a web browser to access WVD. To participate with audio and/or video in Microsoft Teams, do not use web client access. HITS recommends using the Remote Desktop client application. Click the following links for installation and configuration instructions: Windows PC and Mac. |
