ServiceNow - Submit a Knowledge Article for Approval


Introduction

Knowledge Article Publication Lifecycle Workflow with "Publish" highlighted.

This knowledge article will demonstrate how to submit a Draft knowledge article to be approved for publication.

  1. Once an article is complete, click Publish. Most Knowledge bases are set up to use the Approve Publish workflow. Once Publish has been clicked, an Approval Task will go to the Ownership Group (or Knowledge Base Manager if Ownership Groups have not been established) for that article. (Note: If the Knowledge base is set up as Instant Publish, the article will immediately be available.)

    Click 'Publish' to request approval

  2. The article will now display as being in the Review stage of the Workflow.
