Introduction
Outlook is Microsoft's email application. It is available on Windows, macOS, iOS & Android, and on the web. Exchange is Microsoft's email system. This article will address accessing your email on a personally owned PC or Mac. Neither solution requires the Michigan Medicine VPN.
Personally owned PCs and Macs should use either:
- Outlook on the web (also known as OWA)
--or-- - Windows Virtual Desktop where the full Outlook application is available.
If you want to use your mobile device, please refer to "Accessing Email on a Mobile Device."
CoreImage PCs come preconfigured with Outlook set to use Michigan Medicine email.
Michigan Medicine Managed ("Izzy") Macs come with Office 365 installed; however, you will have to log into Office and thereby Outlook with your Michigan Medicine (Level 2) email address to access your mailbox.
Instructions
Neither method requires the VPN.
Outlook on the web (also known as OWA)
- Open a web browser on any device.
- Navigate to outlook.office.com
- Sign in with your Michigan Medicine email (uniqname@med.umich.edu) and UMICH password.
- Respond to Duo.
- Outlook on the web is now opened to your Michigan Medicine mailbox.
Windows Virtual Desktop
