Windows Virtual Desktop - Requesting Applications

Issue

If I don't see an application in the list of available ones on Windows Virtual Desktop, how can I request to have it added?

Resolution

HITS can only offer applications that meet the following requirements:

  1. Are supported on Windows 11.
  2. Are packaged for CoreImage PCs.
  3. Licensed for U-M (e.g., Adobe), licensed per-user sign in (e.g., Microsoft 365), or are open-source/free (e.g., Microsoft Visual Studio Code).
  4. Does not require computational or graphics capabilities beyond the medium tier performance available in WVD.  The general-purpose, multi-user host virtual machines that HITS uses in WVD do not have GPU acceleration.
  5. Is compatible with a virtual desktop infrastructure either based on vendor support or technical compatibility.

Please submit a ticket to HITS specifying the name of the application, its functionality, and a short business case.  Also, request routing to the EDEM Business Analysts group.
