Introduction
UpToDate (Up To Date) is an evidence-based, peer-reviewed electronic information resource used to keep up to date on the most currently accepted forms or treatment and therapy. Also referred to as a "clinical community," it is used by well over 300,000 physicians, clinicians, thousands of patients and the majority of academic medical centers in the U.S.
Instructions
In order to access UpToDate you must register an account.
If you are onsite (Main Campus or Michigan Medicine buildings) connected to our U-M networks (MWireless, MWireless-UMHS, UMHS-8021X or MFleet) follow these instructions to register:
- Go to uptodate.com and you should see the option to click on the Register button
- Fill out your details and create a new username and password.
- You can now log into UpToDate whether or not you're connected to our networks for 90 days.
If you are working offsite with a CoreImage computer, follow these instructions to register:
- Use Cisco AnyConnect to connect to the UMVPN - All Traffic VPN profile
- Note: CoreImage Windows and CoreImage Mac users can disconnect from UMHS SSL VPN and manually enter umvpn.umnet.umich.edu to connect.
- Use your uniqname and password to sign in
- Go to uptodate.com and you should see the option to click on the Register button
- Fill out your details and create a new username and password.
- You can now log into UpToDate whether or not you're connected to our networks for 90 days.
NOTE: Personal device users must register their UpToDate account using MS Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD), since the VPN can only be used on CoreImage devices. (See KB0014343 - VPN Access on Personal Devices / KB0011406 - Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) ) Use steps 2-4 above after successfully entering the WVD environment and opening up a web browser.
