Introduction
The New Kiosk Login Screen
There have been two changes to the Kiosk login screen:
- The new login screen does not indicate if the computer was locked by a previous user.
- The Kiosk mode launchpad (toolbar on top) has been removed and the icons have been placed at the bottom-left of the screen.
- The icons have the same functionality as they did before.
Instructions
The new Kiosk login screen does not indicate if the computer was locked by a previous user.
If the computer was locked by the previous user and a new user logs in, it will launch the previous user’s MiChart tools and login department.
When logging into a Kiosk machine, always verify that you are the current MiChart user and that the login department is correct before you proceed.
The new Kiosk login screen has launchpad removed/icons moved to bottom-left
The Kiosk launchpad (toolbar at top) has been removed and the icons have been placed at the bottom-left of the screen.
Staff must click the yellow X located in the lower left of the screen on Kiosk mode computers to log out.
Inadvertently clicking on the red X will close a session but will not actually log the user out or exit out of MiChart, resulting in the same issues referenced above (launching the previous user’s MiChart tools and login department).
Please Note: Swiping your badge will log you in or lock your current session, but it will not log you out.
Please note that if a staff member attempts to enroll their badge for the first time on a computer where another user is still logged in, it will break the access that the first user secured with their badge.
