GraphPad Prism - License Information

Question

Who can download and install GraphPad Prism and are there any restrictions on what devices it can be put on?

GraphPad Prism is only licensed to Michigan Medicine and ITAM consortium members. If you are not associated with Michigan Medicine and need access to Prism GraphPad, please check with your IT department to see if they are part of ITAM, as you will be able to obtain the application for free. For all others, please the ITS Software Directory for additional ways to get GraphPad Prism.

As of 2024 GraphPad Prism can only be installed on Managed Devices. Personal devices are not permitted to use our research software, for more information read Medical School: Use of Research Software on Personal Computers

Prism is only allowed to be installed and activated on a single device per individual outside of a lab setting. Labs can request any number of devices to be used. For more specifics on the guidelines of Prism usage see the main GraphPad Prism page

When does the GraphPad Prism License expire?

The Prism license expires on April 30th every year. The HITS Academic Applications team receives the new license code from the vendor before the April 30th deadline. Soon afterwards, current Michigan Medicine GraphPad Prism users will receive an email with instructions to request the newest version of GraphPad Prism through our request form. There is a period of time in which both the newest licensed version and previous years license are active at the same time.

How do I update my GraphPad Prism license to the newest supported version?

HITS manages the applications updates through our GraphPad Prism package. When you request Prism through our request form the newest package will be installed on your CoreImage Windows device. CoreMac devices will have their package updated automatically through their managed software center

How do I activate and register GraphPad Prism?

Refer to the GraphPad Prism - How to Activate and Register Prism knowledge article for detailed instructions for both CoreImage Windows and CoreMac devices.
