The Hiring area of Meridian (the faculty lifecycle management suite for the U-M Medical School) allows department administrators to undertake the steps necessary for position approval, offer management, appointing, credentialing, and enrolling a current candidate.

This page shows which candidates are currently in (or once were in) the hiring process for your department, and provides a way to access the specific workflow data for each candidate.
- You can also toggle over to a Dashboard, to see charts and other high-level data about Hiring activities, as well as an overview of your Department's Seats (PCNs)
The specific hiring process details for a given faculty candidate, allowing departments and OFA/MSS/PE to see hiring workflow status, review what data has already been entered, add/change/remove data from the workflow process, and communicate via approvals and messages. The candidate has their own view of the Hiring Detail, called the Candidate Site. This is a simplified list of only the data points and information they need in order to complete their part of the hiring process.
Candidate Info (Background Check) - UPDATED July 2023
This section invites candidates to a new Candidate Site, collects their info, sends it to a background check service, receives the results, and moves the candidate on to Appointing (and Credentialing and Enrollment).
Appointing, Credentialing, and Enrollment Workflow Details
This shows you the detailed workflow steps to progress your candidate through completing their appointment, certifying their credentials, and enrolling them in billing & insurance systems (if applicable).
When a candidate hiring activity must be stopped (and optionally a new candidate takes the original's place).
Email Notifications (Watchlist)
Receive an email whenever a notable action occurs within one or more Hiring workflows; this feature can be customized via the User Preferences (Gear) panel.
Manage Department Signature for Academic Reference Solicitation
Now you can add or edit your department head's signature inside Meridian; this signature is now used for all Academic Reference emails for your department/division, instead of Dr. Zink's.
Adding an "Initial" Clinical Instructor Appointment - NEW as of March 2023
Meridian now supports the special case where some high-ranked new appointments can be accompanied by an "initial" clinical instructor position, without having to create two separate workflows.
