Meridian - Hiring Detail Entering and Saving Data

Introduction

The Hiring Detail page is where department admins add/edit/remove data for the Hiring process of a faculty candidate. This help article explains more about these interactions; see the Meridian - Hiring Detail - Basics help page for a more general description of this area.

Adding/Editing/Removing Data

Interacting with the Hiring activity forms is as simple as typing data or selecting options within each form field. Data is automatically saved, and so there is no need to click a Save button.

Editing or removing data is similar; changing or removing information is automatically saved, as soon as you make the changes.

Note that the auto-saved data does not mean the form is ready for approval. This allows you to essentially work in 'draft mode', until you are ready to send it to OFA, MSS, or PE.

Once submitted, the data you entered becomes 'read-only' to you (locked). See below if you want to change that locked data.

Retract Submission

Upon submitting a form/phase for approval, the data you entered is 'locked', and the Submit for Approval button is replaced with a Retract Submission button. This allows you, as a department user, to pull the form out of approval and 'unlock' it, if you want to add/edit/remove information that you originally submitted (such as due to a typo or a later change in decisions). Update the information you want, and then click the Submit for Approval button again to send it back for approval.

Revising After Approval

Upon approval of a form/phase, the data remains locked and the Retract Submission button is no longer available. If you, as a department user, need to change any information that has already been submitted and approved, contact OFA, MSS, or PE (via the Messages area, the OFA Help Desk, or email/phone) and request that they reopen (unlock) the form for you. They can push a "Revise Form" button, and this returns the form to a status of 'In Progress', where edits can be made. The phase must then be resubmitted for approval.
