Introduction
The List page is your working view of all faculty in your department/division who have at least one active planned change. Adding planned changes to additional faculty will make them appear as 'cards' on this list; reconciling or deleting planned changes will remove the faculty cards from the list.
Instructions
Clicking a faculty card will take you to their Detail page, where you can view, add/edit/delete, and reconcile planned changes for them.
If you are assigned to more than one department/division, you will see a departmental dropdown menu in the Activity Bar header, allowing you to switch between your assignments. Selecting a different department/division will refresh the list.
On this page you can:
- Select a faculty member to view their detail and forecast planned change(s) for them
- Re-sort the faculty cards by using the Sort menu
- Search/filter the faculty cards by various attributes
- Export the List to a CSV file
- Start a new Planned Change for any faculty or placeholder
- Enter your plan comments (narrative summarizing your department/division's planned changes for the current iteration)
- View the Dashboard
- Switch to a different department/division, if you are assigned to more than one
Sorting and Filtering
By default, the List is sorted alphabetically by [faculty/placeholder] Name. Use the Sort menu to reorder the faculty cards by different attributes, such as Name, Uniqname, Track/Rank, etc. This reorder will 'stick' for you across browsing sessions, until you change the Sort order or clear your cookies.
Searching and filtering reduces the number of faculty cards according to the attribute(s) you select. Search for a specific faculty member by entering one or more characters into the Search bar. Or use the More Filter Options to select one or more attributes, such as a certain Track or Planned Change Type.
Note: two of these filter options are special, and actually add more cards into the List:
- Include Reconciled Planned Changes: this reveals planned changes that have been reconciled on each card in the List, as well as adds cards that only have reconciled planned changes (these will be white).
- Include Faculty with No Planned Changes: this adds faculty cards that have no planned changes on them, to give you an alternate way of adding a planned change to a faculty member.
- (Combining these two filter toggles together essentially recreates the former Planning Roster, which showed all faculty members.)
Export
The Export feature allows you to download the List page's contents as an external CSV (comma separated values) file, which can be opened by spreadsheet programs such as Excel. You can then do your own manipulations to the data, or simply file it away as a snapshot.
Clicking the Export button (in the List page's toolbar, next to the Sort menu) gives you two options: All and Filtered.
- "All" includes all data points, including Reconciled faculty and faculty with no planned changes
- "Filtered" honors your filtered view of the List page, downloading only the List cards you see (such as if you have filtered to just Clinical track faculty).
