Meridian - Faculty Planning Detail Page


Introduction

This page is specific to the faculty member you selected from the List page. It shows some pertinent details about the faculty member's current appointments, compensation, and clinical locations, as well as provides an area below where you can record their planned change(s).

On this page you can:

  • Add/edit/delete planned changes for a given faculty member
  • View details about the faculty member's current appointments and compensation
  • Add/edit the faculty member's clinical location(s) and effort at each location (for clinical faculty only)

Instructions

Using Planned Changes

The focus of this Detail page are the planned changes, which are specific to this faculty member (or Placeholder). Both active (white cards) and reconciled (gray cards) planned changes are included here. Planned changes are listed by Anticipated Date of Change (earliest first), even when reconciled. Each planned change is represented by a card, which is collapsed if there is more than one. Click anywhere on the collapsed card to expand and see the planned change details.

  • Edit: You may edit any of the details in the planned change; the card border will turn yellow to indicate unsaved changes. Don't forget to save by clicking the Save button at the bottom. If errors about incomplete or incorrect field values display, fix them, and try saving again.
    • NOTE: if a New Hire plan has been PCN Approved and/or associated with an active Hiring workflow, you may not be able to change some fields.
  • Add: Add a new planned change to this faculty member or placeholder by using the Add Planned Change button in the Activity Bar header. Selecting one of the planned change types will cause a new planned change card to appear expanded at the top of the planned change list. Complete all the required fields and click Save.
  • Delete: If you no longer need a planned change (it was a mistake or is no longer relevant), click the Delete button at the bottom of the planned change form. However, it is generally recommended to Reconcile planned changes instead of deleting them.
    • NOTE: if a New Hire plan has been PCN Approved and/or associated with an active Hiring workflow, you will not be able to delete it.
  • Reconcile: This allows you to indicate to Med Finance that your plan has occurred or not. You may reconcile a planned change at any time (using the Reconcile button on the top of the card) but generally it is appropriate to do once the Anticipated Date is past. This will add a red "Needs Reconciliation" badge, reminding you to reconcile. Learn more about that here. Once reconciled, the card will flip over and turn gray, with a Reconciled badge attached.

Note for New Hire plans: Some New Hire planned changes will have a CID ([Hiring] Candidate ID) and/or PCN (Position Control Number) attached to them; this indicates that this plan has been acted upon in Meridian's Hiring hub. If you have access, clicking the CID will take you to the Hiring detail for that candidate. 

Also, next to each planned change's title is an "i" icon, in order to view more information about this plan. Clicking it opens a small window which lists the closed iterations this planned change is associated with.

 

Appointments, Compensation, and Locations

Key details about this faculty member (or Placeholder) are contained in the header area of the Detail page, such as name, track and rank, uniqname, and UMID. Use the three drawers on the right side to access further details about Appointments, Compensation, and Locations. 

  • Appointments: these are all of the official appointments (including 0 FTE 'dry') that HR has for this faculty member
  • Compensation: details about the faculty's compensation, by fiscal year
  • Locations: which clinical locations this faculty member works at, and how much effort at each. These details are manually entered by departments; use the Edit Locations button (or Add Locations) to add/edit/delete location data.
