Meridian - Faculty Roster Sort and Filter

Introduction

The Faculty Roster is an area within Meridian, the faculty lifecycle management suite for the U-M Medical School. The Faculty Roster allows department administrators to see which faculty members are in their department, as well as to see which lifecycle actions (currently hiring or promotion) are occurring for them.

Instructions

Sort

By default, Faculty Roster information is sorted by faculty name, in ascending order. However, you can re-sort the roster data by clicking on any column header, such as 'PCN' or 'Status'. The first click will sort on that column in ascending order, and a second click will re-sort the column's data in descending order.

Filter: Search Box

You can narrow the list of faculty in your department by typing one or more letters or numbers into the Search box in the upper left corner of the Roster. As soon as one character is typed, the list will automatically shrink to display only rows containing that letter or number. Typing additional letters (such as a faculty member's name, or a complete term, like "Assistant Professor") will further narrow the list.

This filter searches across all visible data elements in the Roster (PCN, Name, uniqname, Appointments, and Status).

To reset the roster to its original state, remove your search query from the Search box.

Filters Button

This button next to the search box displays a list of Filter options, which can narrow the list of faculty by various pre-defined attributes:

  • Include In-Process New Hires
    • This will add in the active candidates from your department/division's Hiring section
  • Include Vacant Seats (PCNs)
    • This will add in seats that are currently not filled by faculty in your department/division
  • Seats (PCNs) in this Department/Division
    • This will narrow your roster down to only those faculty who are sitting in seats assigned to your department/division
  • Track
    • This will narrow your roster down to only those faculty who have appointments in the selected track
