Question
What is Kaltura and how does it differ from Mediasite?
Answer
Kaltura (also known as MiVideo) is the University wide cloud software application for hosting video content storage, recording and annotating videos, and organizing and sharing published media. It has an easy to access integration with Canvas. It is commonly used in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies program's Canvas courses and the Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE) utilizes a shared website called the OMSE Mediaspace for their lecture material for medical students in the MD program.
Mediasite is the lecture capture tool to record live events in the lecture halls in the medical school. Any MD program live event that is recorded will be migrated to the OMSE Mediaspace.
