Overview
DNASTAR Lasergene software is available in different integrated suites of modules/applications. The university site license encompasses two different suites identified on the DNASTAR site, the Lasergene Structural Biology Suite and the Lasergene Genomics Suite.
Lasergene is available to all members of the University of Michigan community. While no Medical School affiliation is necessary to receive Lasergene, requests will depend on the type of device you are installing the software on.
Installation for MM Managed Devices:
- For CoreImage Windows, use the DNAStar Lasergene request form.
- The HITS Service Desk will push the application package to your device to install automatically
- For CoreMacs, use the Managed Software Center to install DNAStar Lasergene.
Activating Lasergene:
Access to the Lasergene license server is restricted to the Michigan Medicine network. Lasergene users working remotely will need first establish a VPN connection in order to launch the software on the machine.
Upon first-time launch:
- Select 'Network'
- Enter the IP address 141.214.40.244
