Equipment Setup Guide - Dell Desktop Mini with Dell Monitor


Introduction

Desktop mini with Dell P2419H Monitor

  1. Open the monitor box:
    • Remove/unbag each of the cables
    • Remove/unbag the monitor stand
    • Remove the large Styrofoam piece
    • Remove/unbag the monitor
    • Locate the yellow asset tag from the monitor box and set it aside for later
  2.  Take Inventory: 
    • 1 or 2 boxed monitors
    • 1 90W power adapter
    • 1 Mouse
    • 1 Keyboard
    • 1 Ethernet Cable
    • 1 Dell Desktop Mini workstation
    • DisplayPort
    • USB Type B to Type A Cable
    • Monitor Power Cable

Instructions

Step by step:

  1. Assemble the monitor 
    1. Assemble the monitor stand
      • Place the monitor stand on the monitor stand base. Note that the connection will feel loose. You will tighten it in the next step
      • Lay the stand on its side so that the fastener at the bottom is accessible.
      • Use the tab to rotate the fastener clockwise until it is tight.
      • Push the tab down so it is out of the way.
    2. Place the Monitor on top of the Monitor stand
      1. Move the stand upright and use the prongs at the top to guide the monitor in place. You should hear a click when the monitor is moved into position.
  2. Attach the Asset tag sticker to the back of the monitor in the upper right corner. 
  3. Insert the Display cable(s) to the monitor. 
  4. Connect the power cable to the monitor.
  5. Connect the 90W power supply to the desktop mini.
  6. Connect the other end of the DisplayPort cable(s) to the desktop mini.
  7. Connect the mouse and keyboard via the USB ports on the desktop mini.
  8. Connect the ethernet cable to the desktop mini.
