Introduction
A co-worker or a resource account may have shared a folder in their mailbox with you.
These instructions will guide you in accessing those folders using the Classic Outlook client.
Note: The instructions below are only applicable to the Classic Outlook desktop client--not Outlook on the web or the New Outlook client (not-supported by HITS).
Instructions
After someone grants you access to (i.e., shares) folders in their mailbox, you must take these steps in your Classic Outlook client.
- Click the File tab on the top ribbon of Outlook.
- Click Account Settings > Account Settings...
- Click Change...
- Click More Settings.
- Click Advanced.
- Click Add.
- Type the exact name of the person or resource account who shared the folder(s) with you (Last Name, First Name), then click OK.
- Click Apply > OK.
- Click Next.
- Click Done.
- Restart Outlook.
- The list of accounts in the Folder Pane in Outlook will now show the user or resource mailbox with the shared folder(s).
