Intune Mobile - Enroll a Personal iPhone or iPad


Introduction

 

 

Before You Begin Checklist

 

  1. Operating System Requirement: iOS 17 and above
    1. How to check your iOS version
    2. Current compatible operating systems

  2. Make sure your device is fully charged; at least 50% required, preferably plugged into a charger.
    1. Optional: Make a new iCloud backup just in case you run into any issues.
    2. How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    3. Recommended:  Back up your iPhone with iCloud

  3. Have a 6-digit alphanumeric or all-numeric Passcode ready for your device
    1. This is required by Compliance and Information Assurance (Security)
    2. Biometrics (Face, Finger, Watch) may be used in tandem with a Passcode / Password

  4. Know your uniqname and UMICH password.

  5. Have Duo already configured.  Instructions to enroll are available in this article: Duo - Enroll iPhone.

  6. Have your Apple ID account information.

  7. Have internet connectivity:  You can enroll on Cellular, but Wi-Fi is preferred.

 

 

 

Instructions

 

 

Enroll in the Company Portal

 

1. Install the Intune Company Portal application from the App Store

Once installed, open the Company Portal app

 

 

 

2. Tap Sign In

 

 

 

3. Enter your uniqname@med.umich.edu email address, then tap Next

 

 

 

4. Enter your UMICH password, then tap Sign In

 

 

 

5. Tap Ok

 

 

 

6. Tap Allow

 

 

 

7. Tap Begin

 

 

 

8. Tap Continue

 

 

 

9. Tap Continue

 

 

 

10. Tap Allow

 

 

 

11. Tap Close

 

 

 

12. From the iOS home screen, open Settings

 

 

 

13. Tap Profile Downloaded

 

 

 

14. Tap Install

 

 

 

15. Tap Install

 

 

 

16. Tap Install

 

 

 

17. Tap Trust

 

 

 

18. Tap on the check mark in the top right corner

 

 

 

19. From the iOS home screen, open the Company Portal app, then tap Continue

 

 

 

20. Tap Continue

 

 

 

21. Tap Done

 

 

 

22. Select Personal Device for the device category, then tap Continue

 

 

 

Note:

If your device does not have a passcode, or if the passcode does not meet the minimum requirements, you will be prompted to set a new passcode when you return to the home screen.

Tap Change Now and follow the on-screen prompts to set a new passcode.

You may defer the change for up to 1-hour.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Outlook Setup

 

1. Outlook will attempt to install automatically. Tap Install when prompted.

 

 

 

2. Tap Add Account

 

 

 

3. Your account should automatically populate. Tap Add Account to continue

 

 

 

4. Enter your UMICH password, then tap Sign In

 

 

 

5. Tap Continue

You will receive a DUO prompt. Complete the prompt to continue

 

 

 

6. You may add another email account at this time. 

Tap Maybe Later to proceed to your inbox

 

 

 

Note:

If you have not yet set an unlock passcode on your device, you will be prompted to set a passcode during the Outlook setup. 

A passcode must be set on your device before you may continue.

 

 

 

7. Tap Turn On

 

 

 

8. Tap Allow
