MiChart Curriculum - Emergency Services Nurse (MC-ED80001A)


Introduction

This article is for the MiChart Emergency Services Nurse (MC-ED80001A) curriculum

  • A unit facilitator assigns the appropriate curriculum in Cornerstone and registers nurses for the Instructor-Led course (for Inexperienced ED Nurses.)
  • Unless otherwise noted, the Instructor-Led portion will be virtual.
    • A pre-class email will be sent to the learner at least one day prior to the Virtual Instructor Led Training session with details about accessing the web conference.
  • Learners can work on the independent portion of the curriculum at their own pace, but must have all required elearnings, practice exercises, and assessments completed before taking the Instructor-Led course.

Overview

For nurses without prior Epic experience, MiChart training for the Emergency Services Adult and Children's Nurse role includes a half-day of independent learning and a half-day of instructor-led training.

This curriculum is comprised of:

Hands-On Practice Exercises to use in the MiChart Practice Environment

All eLearnings, Independent Learning Practice Exercises, and Independent Learning Assessments must be completed prior to the Instructor-led course! 
 

Curriculum Details

First Choose Test Out or Comprehensive Path

After you open the curriculum, you must choose which learning path you are taking: Test Out or Comprehensive Path.

Each learning path has different components that must be completed, so it's important to only complete those components relevant to the path you qualify for.

Test Out Path

1. For nurses that are eligible and pass the Test Out, click View Details next to the MiChart Test Out Path - Epic Experienced Users only.  

  • Review the Nurse Testout document for more details about qualifications for the Test Out path.

 

2. Click View Details next to the Test Out.

**You will not be able to access or complete any other component in this path if this section is not completed first.**

 

3. Click Launch next to the Epic Experienced Path Instructions.

**The Test Out is not available to launch if you have not launched the Instructions first.**

 

4. Review the Notes in the Epic Experienced Path Instructions section.

5. Click Mark Complete.

**You must click Mark Complete to be able to launch the Test Out.**

 

6. Click Launch next to the Emergency Services Nurse Test Out.

**You may only attempt the Test Out once.**

 

7. Click eLearnings and Independent Learning in the table of contents.

 

8. Click Launch next to each eLearning and complete each one individually.

 

Comprehensive Path

If you do not qualify for the Test Out or pass the Test Out, complete the Comprehensive Path.

1. Click View Details next to the MiChart Training Plan.

 

2. Click View Details next to the MiChart Comprehensive Path.

 

3. Click View Details next to the Getting Started section.

**You will not be able to access or complete any other component in this path if this section is not completed first.**

 

4. Click Launch next to the MiChart Comprehensive Path Instructions.

 

5. Review the Notes in the Instructions.

6. Click Mark Complete.

**You must click Mark Complete to be able to launch or complete other components of the curriculum.**

7. Click Launch next to the Getting Started with the MiChart Emergency Services Nurse Curriculum eLearning.

 

8. Click eLearnings and Independent Learning in the table of contents.

**You must do the ED Nurse Independent Practice Part 1 eLearning and write down the answers throughout the eLearning to be able to answer questions for the assessment.**

11. Click Launch next to the Part 1 Independent Learning Assessment. 

**You must do the ED Nurse Independent Practice Part 1 eLearning and write down the answers throughout the eLearning to be able to answer questions for the assessment.**

 

12.Click Launch next to each eLearning and complete each one individually.

13. Click Launch next to the ED Nurse Independent Practice Part 2 eLearning and complete.

**You must do the ED Nurse Independent Practice Part 2 eLearning and write down the answers throughout the eLearning to be able to answer questions for the assessment.**

14. Click Launch next to the Part 2 Independent Learning Assessment.

**You must do the ED Nurse Independent Practice Part 2 eLearning and write down the answers throughout the eLearning to be able to answer questions for the assessment.**

 

All eLearnings, Independent Learning Practice Exercises, and Independent Learning Assessments must be completed prior to the Instructor-led course! 
 

15. Check for an email in your Michigan Medicine email account for a link to the Virtual Instructor-Led course that will supply you with instructions and link for the Virtual class. 

  • Email is sent 24 hours prior to the class date.
  • A nurse educator registers you for the Virtual Instructor-Led course.
