PrinterLogic - Kiosk: default printing


Issue

I changed my default printer on this kiosk device, and the next time I logged in, it switched back to what it was previously.  

Environment

 

PrinterLogic is a modern enterprise print management system that allows users of Windows CoreImage devices to self-install networked printers for printing. 

The PrinterLogic Client is installed software and creates a connection between the workstation and the PrinterLogic web-service.

This connection enables the Client to:

  • Install printers on the workstation
  • The Client runs in the background on any workstation that has it installed and should not require any intervention by the end-user.

Resolution

The CoreImage Kiosk devices are deployed with a permanent default printer installed. Users may temporarily change the default printer using the PrinterLogic client. Once your session ends (log off or maintenance runs) the device will revert to the originally installed default printer.
