Meridian - Hiring Dashboard

Introduction

The Hiring Dashboard (part of the Hiring section within Meridian) contains data summaries and visualizations (charts) about important aspects of Faculty Hiring. It represents live data, such that every time you refresh the page, the content is updated.

It is accessed by clicking the toggle in the Hiring page header (you can "flip" between the Dashboard and the Candidate List views via this toggle).

Currently it is composed of a Seat Summary (related to PCN) and multiple charts. The charts may change periodically, so what you see in the screenshot above may not match the real software, but what you can do with each chart remains the same, and so is explained below.

Seat Summary:

The Seat Summary shows a high-level overview of your department/division, including the number of approved seats, active faculty, open seats, hiring-in-progress seats, and planned seats.

Additionally, clicking the Show Seats button will display a "movie theater" view of each individual seat in your department/division, with the names of the associated faculty if applicable. (This is similar to what you can see when selecting a seat for Position Approval in a candidate workflow.)

Chart Functionality:

Each chart shows live data about some important aspect of the Hiring process and/or the faculty candidates involved. Note: the data shown is specific to the Department/Division selected in the page header. Selecting Medical School (if you have access), will aggregate the data across all departments.

The chart itself has multiple possible interactions. You can:

  • Hover over a specific bar, line, or data point and see more information about it
  • Turn on/off individual data categories by clicking the data labels at the bottom of the chart
  • Expand the chart to be 'extra wide' by clicking the box in the upper right corner of the chart
  • Read more about the parameters of the chart's data by hovering over the tooltip next to the chart title

Additionally, each chart has a contextual menu () that provides multiple export/download options:

  • Data Detail: this is a CSV (Excel-compatible) file that contains all the data backing the chart, at the individual datapoint level (such as all key faculty details). This can then be used to analyze the data on your own.
  • PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG: these are popular types of images, which will export the chart graphic and allow you to use it in your own reports, presentations, etc.
