Overview
The Michigan Medicine virtual private network (VPN) offers an encrypted channel for securely accessing internal file servers and websites.
To access Michigan Medicine resources from personal or non-managed devices, use the Windows Virtual Desktop service.
VPN Options

| UMHS SSL VPN | Requires your uniqname, UMICH password, an active Michigan Medicine account, and Two-Factor Authentication for secure access. |
| Cisco Secure Client | Approved and supported by HITS, it provides access to all health system internal resources. It is essential for clinical applications and patient care delivery. To launch Cisco Secure Client, visit KB0023395. |
| Mobile Device Compatibility | Michigan Medicine staff can use the Cisco Secure Client on Apple iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) and Android devices enrolled in Mobile Device Management for secure internal resource access. |
