Granting Remote Access to Vendor via Beyondtrust


Introduction

When necessary, we can provide vendors with access to a Michigan Medicine device via our remote support tool, Beyondtrust. To give a vendor access, you'll need to follow the steps below.

Instructions

Before Installation

1.  Gain Administrator Access to the device that you wish to give access to

This will be needed to install BeyondTrust

2.  Get agent access to Beyondtrust

This is requested through Service Analysis and Improvment, via ServiceNow

Setup

1.  Install BeyondTrust

This can be downloaded from [support.med.umich.edu/login](http://support.med.umich.edu/login)

The installation process will vary slightly depending on your operating system, but instructions are provided for all supported OSes there.

2.  Open the Agent on your Device

This will prompt you to log in, do so with your Uniqname and Level 2 password

3.  Direct your vendor to [support.med.umich.edu](http://support.med.umich.edu)

This will give them a list of available agents, they'll want to select your name

Selecting your name will start a download on their device, they'll want to open the file that was downloaded

4.  Accept the Session in the Agent Console

Once the vendor has opened the download, you will see a pop up in your console for a session request. Choose accept to start the session

5.  Select "Share my Screen"

On the agent side, you'll be prompted to request remote control, or to "Share my Screen." Select to share to give them access to your screen.

Once this is done, select the top left button with a screen and play button to activate and begin sharing your screen

6. Grant Remote Control

Next to the Activate button, select the "Give Control" button to grant them access to control your screen.
