Accessing the New Viewer

Similar to the retired GLHC Outside Records button, you can use a single sign-on connection via MiChart to access the MiGateway Viewer.

Access instructions are located in the Accessing the MIGateway Button in MiChart knowledge article. (Note: Accessing this article requires level-2 password access due to the MiChart content and the tenets of our contract with Epic.)

Frequently Asked Questions

Question Answer Additional Info
Why Did MiHIN Make This Change? MiHIN provides an answer to the question, “Why is this migration happening? on Page 2 of their FAQ document. The MiHIN Integrated Technology Platform page provides extensive information about MiHIN’s project, including a roadmap, FAQ document, help documentation, and demo recordings
Why am I not seeing the data I expect to see?  MiHIN has been backloading data into the new viewing since the June 1, 2025 launch date, and continues to do so. Most data going forward from June 1, 2025 should be viewable. However, because backloaded data is still being processed, the amount of data loaded from each institution may vary.  See the Backloaded Data Details section for MiHIN’s description of what data they are including for the release.
Why does the patient data look different than it did in the old GLHC viewer?

MiHIN MiGateway is a brand new viewer developed by MiHIN. It does not use any GLHC logic and may be formatted differently than GLHC. We are working with MiHIN to request updates post-live for the viewer.

The MIGateway User Guide provides a more detailed information about the back-end functionality of the Viewer sections and HL7 mapping details.
How do I find the MiHIN MIGateway tab that I pinned in MiChart? Instructions for finding your pinned tab are included in the Accessing the MIGateway Button in MiChart knowledge article. (Scroll down to the second section.)

Outstanding Issues

As of 6/3/2025 we are aware of the following issues and are actively communicating with MiHIN as they work to resolve them. Please do not open new help tickets for these two issues. We will continue to update this knowledge article as we receive new resolution details.

  • Patient Data Not Found - MiHIN has informed us that they are still in the process of loading retrospective ADT, Lab, and CCD patient data into the new viewer. This may affect whether you can view a patient's record in the new tool.
  • Invalid Token -  MiHIN is actively investigating this issue. (Resolved 6/3/2025)
