Introduction
Microsoft includes the Remote Desktop Connection application in Windows that allows you to see and control a computer remotely.
To remotely log into a CoreImage Windows computer you will need the following:
- Have a CoreImage device to connect from--or use a Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) session as an intermediate "jump point"--to the target CoreImage device. See here for instructions if you are using a Mac.
- Be a member of the Remote Desktop Users group on the target CoreImage device you wish to remote to. To gain membership, request access.
- The Device Name of the target CoreImage computer you wish to remote to.
Note: Personal devices can no longer use the VPN to connect to the Michigan Medicine privileged network. Please use Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) as an intermediate "jump point" to remote to the target Classic-CoreImage computer. You cannot use WVD as a jump point to remotely connect to an Intune-CoreImage device.
Source device | Target device | |

*Only the Primary User of the target Intune-CoreImage device can make a remote desktop connection. The Primary User is the person who enrolled the device in Intune.
Depending on what type of device you are using and where it is located, your method to connect will change:
