Telephone - Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) Basics
Overview
Internal Calls
- All phones are programmed as 5-digit numbers.
- Dial last 5 digits of number to reach any phone in NCRC.
- Alternatively, you can dial full 10 digits and reach any phone at NCRC
External Calls
- Access code is 9-7
- To dial an outside long-distance number, dial 9-7+1+XXX-XXX-XXXX
- To dial an outside local number dial 9+7+XXX-XXXX
- Outbound Caller ID will show 734-232-0000 = UM Hospital
External Calls to main Medical Campus
- Dial the same as an external call.
- Call will remain "on-net" and will complete via VoIP.
- Ex. 9-7-1-734-936-4000 will complete internally over VoIP.
- You will send/receive proper Caller ID information.
Emergency Access
- Dial 9-1-1, 9-7-9-1-1, or 9-9-1-1
- Calls will route to local Police/Fire
Voicemail
- Mailboxes are built as 5-digit numbers.
- To access voicemail from your phone
- Press the envelope key. This will take you right to entering your password.
- To access voicemail from an external phone:
- Dial 734-998-2400.
- When prompted for "ID", enter your 5 digit phone number; e.g., 12345#
- When prompted for "Password", enter your password.
