Remote Access - How to access MiChart remotely


Question

How do I access to MiChart when I'm not at a Michigan Medicine facility or not using a CoreImage device (e.g. BYO device or MiWorkspace computer)?

Answer

 

Warning: Accessing MiChart using either Citrix Workspace or Citrix Receiver clients installed on a personally owned device is not compliant.

 

Logging into the following services requires Duo two-factor authentication. Please configure Duo before proceeding.

If you are using a personally owned computer, a MiWorkspace computer, or HITS-managed Izzy Mac while remote:

  1. Visit the Vplaces website and use the light version*.  You may not use the Citrix Workspace/Receiver clients on personally owned devices.
    • Click Use Light Version after you log into Vplaces as shown in the screenshot below.


      OR

  2. Log into Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD)*.

If you are using a CoreImage Windows device while remote: 

  1. If connected to the VPN, open the MiChart icon from the start menu on a CoreImage Windows device. Note:  Vplaces does not work if you are on the privileged network, including using the VPN.

        OR

  2. If not connected to the VPN, login at the Vplaces website and click the MiChart icon on the apps screen.

 

TIP:  If you are having trouble logging into Vplaces, try clicking the Log On button instead of using the Enter key.
