Adobe - How to install the CCDA - Creative Cloud Desktop Application


Introduction

Adobe Creative Cloud is available to all University of Michigan faculty, staff and students.  Follow the instructions below to install the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application (CCDA) on CoreImage, personal devices, and CoreMac/IzzyMac.  The CCDA is the hub application where all the Creative Cloud applications are available for download and installation.

Instructions

Install instructions for CoreImage (Non-Kiosk) devices ONLY.  The Creative Cloud Desktop Application is not available for Kiosk devices.

 

Note: To install applications from Software Center (Classic-CoreImage), you must be connected to the Michigan Medicine network through a wired connection (Ethernet), wireless (MFleet or UMHS-8021X), or if remote, via the VPN (Cisco Secure Client).  To install applications from Company Portal (Intune-CoreImage), you can be connected to any network and VPN is not required.

 

If the Creative Cloud Desktop Application (CCDA) is NOT installed:

1. Open either Software Center or Company Portal.

2. Click on Adobe CCDA.

 

 

3. Click Install.

 

 

4. Wait for the installation to complete.  The CCDA is a large application and will take many minutes to install depending on your internet connection speed and system performance.  Once installed, the CCDA is available in the start menu as Adobe Creative Cloud.  Launch it and sign in using your UMICH email and password.

Install instructions for Personal devices

  1. Log into Adobe.com by clicking Sign In (upper right corner)
  2. Enter your UMICH email (uniqname@umich.edu) in the login window
  3. Click Company or School Account in the Select an account window
  4. The single sign-on (SSO) window will open, enter your UMICH username and password
  5. If presented with it, approve the DUO request.

 

Install instructions for Michigan Medicine CoreMac (Izzy)

Note: To install applications from Managed Software Center (CoreMac), you can be connected to any network and VPN is not required.

 

1. Open Managed Software Center.

1A. From the Home Screen

  • Click the Michigan block "M"

  • Click Managed Software Center

 

1B. From Launchpad.

  • Open Launchpad

  • Click on Managed Software Center

 

2. Search for Adobe in the Software tab.

3. Click Install on Adobe Desktop.

 

Login to Creative Cloud

1. Launch Creative Cloud from Launchpad

 

2. Enter your UMICH email (uniqname@umich.edu).

  • Click Continue

 

3. Enter your UMICH username and password.

  • Click Log In

 

Note: from Creative Cloud you can manage and launch all adobe software available for your workstation.
