Overview
Michigan Medicine Blue Folder is a tool to assist managers with documentation of staff competencies. The folder is used to demonstrate this competence to The Joint Commission. Michigan Medicine Blue Folder runs on the SharePoint online platform.
Features include:
- Main SharePoint site with links to:
- Blue Folder by Department: A document library containing employee blue folders under Michigan Medicine Department folders.
- Imports from various information sources, listing content items for an employee along with Blue Folders, such as:
- Perceptive Content including:
- New Employee Orientations
- Pre-Cornerstone Performance Evaluations
- Certifications
- Cornerstone:
- Performance Evaluations
- Mandatories
- Trainings
- Cactus: Provides Primary Source Verification (PSV)
- IAM Active Employees: Imports from source for employee’s department, name, hire date, and job code.
- Perceptive Content including:
- Blue Folder Resources: Provides links to pages for the Blue Folder Brigade page, Blue Folder Templates, and Service Now Knowledge Articles for Blue Folder (or Training Resources and Job Aids).
- Blue Folder Brigade opens on the same page.
- Blue Folder Templates and Service Now Knowledge open in separate browser tabs.
- Compliance Report (Note: Requires login to VPN if offsite.)

- Accessible after employee is granted permission by a Blue Folder Program manager to special GMT group.
- Displays departments with missing documentation.
- Shows Michigan Medicine statistics such a “No Performance Evaluation,” “No Mandatories,” and “No New Employee Orientations.”
- Displays employees with non-compliances grouped in their departments.
- Displays individual employee information such as:

- Full name.
- Job Code.
- Performance Evaluation: Y (yes) or N (no).
- New Employee Orientation (NEO): Y (yes) or N (no).
- Primary Source Verification (PSV): Y (yes) or N (no).

- Blue Folder Site Search.
- Allows users to search for Blue Folders by Employee UMID, Employee Name, and Department Number.
- Returns folders in the Blue Folder by Department list for an employee from multiple departments if the employee has more than one job assignment within Michigan Medicine.
