Intune-managed CoreImage - How to pull updated policies using Company Portal

Introduction

Intune-managed CoreImage computers do not use Maintenance like Classic-CoreImage computers do.  Instead, they automatically synchronize their policies with Intune.  The synchronization does not require a VPN connection or for the device to be on a Michigan Medicine network.  It only requires access to the Internet.

If you recently have been assigned an application and want to expedite its install/uninstall, you can initiate a sync of policies within Company Portal's Settings tab.

When you first open Company Portal on an Intune-CoreImage device, choose Corporate.

Instructions

  1. Closing and reopening Company Portal should pull updated policies from Intune.  However, if the application still does not install/uninstall, proceed to use the following steps.

  2. Open Company Portal from the Start Menu.
    Windows 10 Windows 11

  3. Click on the Settings tab.

  4. Click on Sync.

The synchronization will occur in the background as you continue to use your computer.  The synchronization does not require a VPN connection or for the device to be on a Michigan Medicine network.  It only requires access to the Internet.  Once the sync completes you will see a notification that the application is installing or uninstalling.  If you miss that notification, you can check Add or Remove Programs (just type it into the Start Menu for it to appear as option to launch) and see if the application is present or not based on whether it should have been installed or uninstalled.
