Cornerstone Questionmark Outage Dates:

  • Outage start date: Monday Jan 12, 2026
  • Outage end date: Friday Jan 16, 2026

Instructions

1. When will Cornerstone be unavailable for taking quizzes and tests?

Cornerstone tests and assessments will be unavailable from the outage start date through the outage end date listed above. Cornerstone Learning will be available for all other needs such as roster management, training registration, transcript review, reporting, etc., but online courses that contain Questionmark assessments as part of their content can't be completed during the upgrade window.

2. Why will quizzes and tests be unavailable?

Many online courses in Cornerstone with assessments in them are developed in the Questionmark software, which is being upgraded to the latest version to meet security needs.

3. What will happen if I try to access an assessment during the outage?

If you try to access an assessment during the outage, you will receive an error message.

4. As a learner, how can I prepare for the outage?

To prepare for the outage, please plan to complete curriculums and courses with Cornerstone assessments prior to the outage start date or after outage end date.

5. Will Institutional Mandatory training be impacted by the outage?

Only a few institutional mandatories will be impacted. Examples are Critical Incident and Fire Safety trainings.

6. Will MiChart training be impacted by the outage?

During the outage, you will not be able to complete MiChart test outs or online MiChart training curriculum that have assessments.

  • MiChart Test Outs must be completed prior to the outage or learners will have to attend the instructor led course within the curriculum for access for classes occurring within the downtime window.

  • MiChart Instructor Led Courses will not be disrupted. Prerequisite online learners (with the exception of the test out) can and should still be completed prior to the course.

  • Fully online MiChart Training Curriculum can be completed with the exception of the assessment. If there is a critical need for security during this time, please enter a service ticket.

7. I am an instructor for an instructor-led course with a Questionmark assessment for a class that happens during the outage. What should I do?

If you are an instructor for an instructor-led course that uses Questionmark assessments and is scheduled to occur during the outage, you will want to make appropriate downtime assessments for the class with plans to update completion when the system returns or mark completions manually within Cornerstone.

8. How do I know if my course has a Questionmark assessment?

View the assessment for your course in advance of the downtime. The first two screenshots below are examples of QuestionMark assessments which will be unavailable during the downtime. The third on shows an assessment that is contained inside a presentation and doesn't utilize Questionmark so it will not be impacted.
