Issue
When opening an Office file with an unsigned macro, the Office application displays a notification indicating that the macro is blocked.
Note: For instructions specific to the Epic Export Macro, please review KB0026593.
Environment
Classic-CoreImage
Intune-CoreImage
Cause
CoreImage products have security settings to ensure that files with malicious code are blocked from running. This includes unsigned macros in Office documents.
Resolution
If the file should be trusted despite having unsigned macros, you may place the file in one of the following locations and open it in the appropriate desktop application such as Word, Excel, and Access.
- OneDrive sync folder: C:\users\uniqname\OneDrive - Michigan Medicine\
- OneDrive for the web: https://umhealth-my.sharepoint.com/
- From a Michigan Medicine SharePoint Online site: https://umhealth.sharepoint.com/
Once placed in a trusted location, right-click the file and select Properties. On the General tab, check the box to Unblock. Click OK. If you do not see the checkbox, the file does not need to be unblocked.
When opened from a trusted location, you may click Enable Content to begin using the macros in the file.
