Virtual Private Network (VPN) Annual Certification using ServiceNow Data Certification Tasks

Introduction

Trusted IT Service Providers (TSP) accountable for Configuration Items that require a site-to-site Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection will periodically receive a ServiceNow Data Certification Task to review and update the VPN entries. The goal of this certification is to ensure that inventory is accurate, and that associated inventory data is reviewed and "certified correct" by the responsible TSP. Learn more about the data fields associated with a Configuration Item by visiting this link Service Asset and Configuration Management (CMDB) KB0011916

TSP's will receive an email from ServiceNow indicating that a certification task has been assigned to you and requires your attention. Click on the task linked to in the email and follow the instructions to complete the certification process. (Your Certification Tasks can also be found directly in ServiceNow here or by browsing to Data Certification -> Tasks -> My Tasks.)

Each VPN entry associated with a linked Configuration Item must be reviewed and confirmed for accuracy. If you are unable to complete your certification task in one session, you can certify some VPN entries now and come back to the task at another time.
