Hospital Facilities - Desigo BMS Integration Guidelines

Introduction

UMH has upgraded to Desigo version 6 effective February 12, 2024. Our system is now fully meshed, where every system can see information from every system. The following guidelines must be followed in all BMS integrations into Desigo.

Instructions

Running Desigo

  • Desigo continues to be accessible only from inside the UMH network.
  • The recommended client for integration is the Desigo installed client. BMS Integrators should RDP to UHBMSWASSPR1.umhs.med.umich.edu and login using your privileged username (I.E.: umhs\umhs-uniqueName) and password from the password vault.
  • The Desigo web application client (click-once) is accessible from desigo.med.umich.edu, under BMS Integrators. However, it will not work from WVD.
  • Desigo Flex client is also available from desigo.med.umich.edu, either primary or secondary Flex client display the same information. If you are having trouble seeing information from Flex client primary, switch to secondary and vice-versa.

Field Networks

  • Regardless of the building where the controller is located, devices must be integrated to a Field Network in the Desigo system with the least number of objects.
    • Siemens controllers may require splitting the Building Level Network (BLN) in Datamate Advanced so the Mass Storage Device can be set correctly.
  • Check the “Servers Status / Info” graphic to see which system has the least number of objects. If a system is listed as “closed” under integration, do not add new devices to closed system. System5 – Application View – Graphics - _DCC System 5 Applications Dashboard
  • Name the Field Network with the building number and driver type only. I.E.: 0316_BACnet_FEP, 5223_SNMP_FEP.
    • Add the building name to the description of the Field Network. I.E.: 0316 University Hospital BACnet FEP, 5223 North Campus Auxiliary Support Building SNMP FEP.
  • The monitoring driver of a new Field Network must say FEP in the driver’s description. Do not integrate devices into a new Field Network monitored by a driver without FEP in its description.

Graphics

  • Create graphics in the system assigned for each building. Go to the Desigo System Locations List(Level-2 sign in needed) to see which System each Building’s graphics are located in.
  • Create folders for each building as needed. Name each folder with the building number only.
    • Add the building name to the description of the folder.
