List of All Excluded Devices

This report gives the number of devices for specific exclusions and/or the total number of exclusions.

Additional Exclusions Information:

  • During packaged application testing, multiple applications were not compatible with Windows 11 (WaaS - Application Exclusions).
  • Exclusions can be for the following buckets:
    • Applications (Mcard 1.0, Pedz PES 2.1.1.0, Codemeter 7.21a)
    • Ad Hoc Departments (Anesthesiology, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy)
    • Other (unsupported hardware, 60+ profiles, insufficient disk space, offline failure exclusions, inactive AD)
  • A device can be a member of an exclusion (which are buckets for either application, ad hoc, or hardware-excluded devices) and also have another type of "blocking" category (like disk space = failed preassessment).
    • For example, of the total 8357 currently excluded, 6398 are in a "Ready for Deployment State" and would be candidates for upgrade if the exclusions were lifted.
  • Once an application is compatible with Windows 11, the devices that have the application installed will be updated
  • Flex devices and other department areas are excluded.
  • Users can update by navigating to Software Center
  • Unsupported hardware will be remediated and replaced

Scheduling Exclusions for the WaaS Upgrades

When the application becomes compatible (via fix or upgrade) with Windows 11 and/or the department is ready to receive the upgrade, EDEM creates a schedule to keep all the devices from updating at one time

Common Waas Report Terms

  • Scrutineering refers to the hardware check
  • Preassessment refers to disk space check, AD activity, device reporting, etc.
  • If a space is blank, the device hasn't yet reported status for the PreStage execution (but has passed scrutineering and preassessment)
  • An exclusion refers to when a device(s) is kept from upgrading via the WaaS IPU process
  • The Member Count column refers to the number of devices
  • 1900 in the date field means no date set or NULL.
