Account Management Application: Delegate Management


Introduction

PREREQUISITES:

  1. You must be listed as an Access Liaison to provision an Oracle account.  To confirm Access Liaison status...
    1. Go to https://am.med.umich.edu/ords/f?p=118 and login with your unique name and level-2 password.
    2. Click Find an Access Liaison within the Information region.
    3. Type the name of the person in question within the search bar.  Click Go.
    4. Please note that the Access Liaison list is maintained by the Identity Management team. To have an individual added as an Access Liaison, please contact the Service Desk for assistance.
  2. A profile must be created within AMA for the access liaison that aligns with the target database.  The AMA profile contains the privileges needed to provision an end user account.  AMA profiles are created by the primary DBA for the target database.  To have an AMA profile, created, please submit an ServiceNow request to the Oracle Services team.
  3. Determine what action needs to be taken. Please see the Instructions section for details.

Instructions

NOTE:  A delegate Access Liaison within AMA will have the ability to renew, reactivate (i.e. unlock), and deactivate (i.e. lock) accounts managed by another Access Liaison.  To enable this feature, the primary Access Liaison must specify the databases the delegate has approval to manage.

  1. Assigning Privileges
    1. Click https://am.med.umich.edu/ords/f?p=118.  Login with your unique name and Level 2 / One UMICH password.
    2. Click My Delegates.
    3. Click ADD NEW DELEGATE.
    4. Click either ORACLE or SQL SERVER (if applicable).
    5. For Oracle accounts, choose the name of the database within the Database pull-down field.
    6. For SQL Server accounts (if applicable), choose the name of the server within the Server pull-down field.
    7. Type the unique name of the new delegate within the Delegate text box.  Click FIND AN ACCESS LIAISON to search the current list of access liaisons by name.
    8. Click ADD DELEGATE to submit the request.
  2. Modifying Privileges
    1. Click https://am.med.umich.edu/ords/f?p=118.  Login with your unique name and Level 2 / One UMICH password.
    2. Click A black and white logoDescription automatically generated on the left of the Database column for the specific delegate.
    3. Click A black and white calendar with a number oneDescription automatically generated to the right of the View Expiration field.
      1. Select a new expiration date.
      2. Click UPDATE DELEGATE.
  3. Revoking Privileges
    1. Click https://am.med.umich.edu/ords/f?p=118.  Login with your unique name and Level 2 / One UMICH password.
    2. Click My Delegates.
    3. Click A black and white logoDescription automatically generated on the left of the Database column for the specific delegate.
    4. Click DELETE.
