UMICH and Michigan Medicine Accounts

Michigan Medicine employees use their UMICH uniqname and password for system logins. Your UMICH uniqname and password are tied to two accounts. Your role determines what applications and systems your accounts are tied to.

What does Level-2 mean?

Level-2 is a legacy term referring to a Michigan Medicine account. Prior to 2024, UMICH and Michigan Medicine accounts used separate passwords. This meant that each staff member had to remember two different passwords, known as their UMICH (Level-1) and Michigan Medicine (Level-2) passwords, and when to use each one. Now all staffers use one password across all U-M and Michigan Medicine systems, but you must have a Michigan Medicine account to access our systems and apps.
