CoreImage and CoreMac Applications:

Applications like Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Suite are available on all Michigan Medicine CoreImage and CoreMac computers, but they do not appear on these lists. For more information on applications available on CoreImage and CoreMac devices, check the CoreImage Enterprise Applications Article or the Managed Computing Services article.

Request or Suggest Software:

If you frequently use or anticipate needing a specific software title not listed, please let us know by submitting a new idea or upvoting an existing idea in our HITS Ideas Portal. Your feedback helps us enhance our software offerings.

Application Description
BioRender

About: BioRender is a web application for creating scientific figures, diagrams, and illustrations from a scientifically accurate image library.

Status: HITS obtained limited Biorender licensing which will be available in Spring of 2025.

Imaris

About: Imaris provides tools for the visualization, segmentation, and interpretation of 3D and 4D microscopy datasets.

Status: While there's interest in this application, we are not pursuing an enterprise license at this time.

Mendeley

About: Mendeley is a citation add-in for inserting reference and bibliography information into Word documents.

Status: HITS received requests to enable this add-in for M365. To support this, please upvote it in the HITS Ideas Portal.

PaperPile

About: Paperpile is a web-based reference management software integrated with Google Docs and Google Scholar.

Status: Based on usage data, individual licenses at $2.99/month are more cost-effective than an enterprise license.

Quartzy

About: Quartzy is an online lab management platform and scientific research supply marketplace.

Status: We are monitoring interest, but there is no immediate plan to pursue an enterprise license.

Sequencher

About: Sequencher is software for DNA and RNA sequence analysis and assembly.

Status: We are monitoring interest but are not pursuing an enterprise license at this time.

SnapGene

About: SnapGene is software for planning, visualizing, and documenting molecular biology procedures.

Status: Interest is being monitored, but there are no current plans to pursue an enterprise license.

Zotero

About: Zotero is open-source reference management software for managing bibliographic data.

Status: HITS received several requests to enable this for M365. Please upvote in the HITS Ideas Portal to support this.
