Introduction

The Faculty Info Page includes the following sections: Current Appointments, Clocks, and Extensions & Exclusions.

The Current Appointments section shows the faculty's admin department plus their current appointments, including each appointment's department, track, rank, and FTE.

The Clocks section represents the Promotion timeline for a faculty’s Tenure and/or Research track appointments. Each clock has the following columns: Clock Year, Start Date, End Date, and a column that shows both approved Extensions/Exclusions requests and Promotion Packet due date information.

The Extensions & Exclusions section contains a form workflow that allows Departments to submit a request to add years to a faculty’s clock. To submit an extensions or exclusion request, Departments need to provide the following:

  • Type of Extension/Exclusion (required)
  • Upload latest Faculty CV (required)
  • Upload Chair's Transmittal Letter (required)
  • Upload Additional Documents (optional)

Once this information is provided, OFA determines if the request is “Pending – Submitted for Approval”, “Approve”, or “Deny”. If the request is set to “Approve” then OFA needs to provide an Effective Date and Approval Documents for the Clock to be updated.

The Extensions & Exclusions section also presents information in a table with the following columns:

  • Type – this is the type of Extension or Exclusion being requested. The options are: 10 Year University Tenure Clock Extension, Childbirth Exclusion, COVID Extension, Dependent Care Exclusion, and Extenuating Circumstances Extension (Research).
  • Determination – what status the request is in - “Pending – Submitted for Approval”, “Approve” or “Deny” with a corresponding date. If you hover over the date, you see which user set the Determination.
  • Effective Date – this is the date more time will be applied to the faculty’s promotion clock in accordance with the extension/exclusion type. Once the request has been approved, an effective date must be entered or else the promotion clock will not change.
  • Approval Documents – this column indicates whether a request has the required approval documents uploaded by OFA. If yes, the column contains “Yes”; if no, the column is blank.
