Vendors
Michigan Medicine requires vendors to comply with specific training standards to ensure safety, compliance, and alignment with institutional policies. These requirements are outlined in the U-M Health Vendor Relations and Management Policy (Policy 01-04-008), Section IV: Vendor Visitation – General, Item 6.
Training expectations differ based on whether a vendor has a sponsored Michigan Medicine account (Level-2 access) or not:
- Vendors with a Michigan Medicine account must complete the Institutional Mandatory Training in Cornerstone Learning.
- Vendors without a Michigan Medicine account must meet the training requirements specified in the vendor management system.
Michigan Medicine (Level 2) Account - Non Employee
The connection between Cornerstone Learning and our Identity data associates all non-Michigan Medicine employees (students/temps/contractors/campus employees with a level 2 account) with the sponsoring department and manager with whom they are working, which allows for automated training assignment. These employees are required to complete some institutional mandatories. Please view Michigan Medicine Institutional Mandatories. Please note: Any individual who has a level 2 (Michigan Medicine account) is required to complete the MM Institutional Mandatory - Compliance COMP-C10000 training via the Cornerstone learning management system.
Instructions
Michigan Medicine (Level 2) Account - Non Employee (Including Vendors)
- Must complete Institutional Mandatory Training in Cornerstone. For a list of required training, please view Michigan Medicine Institutional Mandatories
- Training is auto‑assigned within Cornerstone within 24 hours of account creation.
- Requirements may vary by department.
- Cornerstone completion certificates may be uploaded to the vendor management system.
Note: Training done only in the vendor management system does not replace Cornerstone Institutional Mandatories.
Vendors Without a Michigan Medicine Account
- Must complete training defined in the vendor management system.
- If later granted a Michigan Medicine account, they must then complete Cornerstone Institutional Mandatory Training.
