Introduction
When connecting to Cisco Secure Client via the Michigan Medicine VPN, you will be prompted to authenticate using Okta. After you enter your Michigan Medicine credentials, Cisco will send you a Okta Push to approve. If you have trouble authenticating, try some of the alternatives below.

Instructions
Authenticating to the VPN with a Okta Passcode via a Hardware Token
| 1 | Open Cisco Secure Client from your laptop. Enter your uniqname and Michigan Medicine password but DO NOT press enter or click OK yet. | |
| 2 | At the end of your password type a comma. | |

Press the button on your Okta Hardware Token to generate a one-time code. Type this code in following the comma.
Example: mypassword,123456

Authenticating with a Okta Passcode via the Okta Verify App

Open the Okta Verify app on your smartphone. The code is automatically generated for your account which should be labeled ''okta.umich.edu'' and have your uniqname listed underneath the label. Type this code in following the comma.
