Issue
Users may encounter a black screen when logging into WVD. The login appears to complete but the desktop never appears. The mouse pointer remains visible and responsive.
Cause
The Windows Explorer process is randomly crashing on login for some users.
Resolution
- Once the black screen appears, press Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys to open Task Manager.
- Click File.
- Type explorer and click OK.
- The desktop should appear.
