If your account in Okta is locked out, users can unlock their account with the following process.

Unlock Your Account

1. Go to okta.umich.edu
   1. If your uniqname or email address has been pre-filled, click ‘back to sign in’.
2. Click Unlock Account?
3. Enter your uniqname or email address.
4. Select the email or phone method for verification

Email Verification

• You will receive an account unlock email to your UMICH email, secondary email (usually a personal email), and any mail forwarding addresses you have set up.
• Click the link sent to your email, or enter the code to unlock your account.

Note: Check your spam folder if you are unable to find the email.

Phone Verification

• Choose between receiving a code via text or phone call.
• Enter the code you receive to unlock your account.
