Overview
SAS (Statistical Analysis System) Client is a software platform used for statistical analysis, data management, application development, reporting, and data visualization. It is widely used for research, analytics, and other data-driven activities.
Licensing
SAS Client licenses are not provided by HITS or Michigan Medicine. To obtain a SAS Client license, users must purchase one through the ITS Software Store.
Installing SAS on a CoreImage Windows Device
If you have purchased a SAS Client license and need it installed on a CoreImage Windows device, submit a request using the SAS Client catalog item.
Note: Proof of a valid SAS Client license is required before the software can be provisioned.
Support Model
HITS provides software lifecycle management only for SAS. This includes:
- Evaluating and approving SAS for use within the Michigan Medicine computing environment.
- Packaging and publishing supported SAS client versions for installation on managed devices.
- Making updated software versions available when appropriate.
HITS does not provide user, application, or operational support for SAS. This includes:
- Statistical analysis assistance
- Programming or code troubleshooting
- Data analysis support
- Application configuration
- Server administration
- Operational support for business workflows
Because HITS does not provide ongoing user or operational support, SAS should not be used for critical business or operational processes where reliable application support is required.
